Wow! I can’t believe I am actually sharing a non-design team project with you today. Lately, I have had no time to craft on the side for challenges or just because. I am on three design teams right now and it gets a bit overwhelming at times.
Alright, onto the tag. I loved Tim Holtz’s February tag but I don’t have any of the blue print stamps so here is my take. I dug out my new Wendy Vecchi stamps I got for Christmas. Can you believe I have a stack of 10 or more stamp sets that I haven’t had time to play with since Christmas? Disgraceful! Anyway, so I went for a more feminine theme because Valentine’s is over.
My background was swiped with silver metallic distress stain and stamped with several layers of background stamps. I then added an embossed back cardstock with a metallic core. The dress form was colored using Distress Markers and the large TH wings were embossed in silver. I clustered mini metal gears around the dress forms waist to create a steampunk belt. I finished off with some black bakers twine, a TH stamped heart and a flower.
Thank you for visiting. I am a little behind on visiting your blogs but I’ll be coming around as soon as life slows.
Happy weekend!
Kate

How funny… I’m about to do exactly the same thing – post a non-DT piece – saying pretty much exactly the same thing!! Gorgeous take on the tag – I love the transformation to the subtle pastel palette and the winged dressform is yummy! Have a great weekend…

I adore this dress form from Wendy and it looks perfect combined with the wings and textured tag background – delicate and strong at the same time – love it! Thanks so much for joining in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. Sarah.

This was a must come and see for me from the thumbnails at SSS&S. Love the pretty soft feminine take yet still keeping the grungy style. The tiny gears are perfect.

This is utterly fabulous, Kate! Love your take on Tim’s February tag. I am absolutely drooling over that beautiful background you have created and I really like how you used the BINGO texture fade. Using black has sharpened everything so much. So great to have you sharing with us over at Sunday Share at Frilly and Funkie. Good luck in next week’s drawing!
Hugs,
Linda
