Happy Thursday and Welcome! Play along with our Blog hop and you could win this featured stamp. Itsn’t it adorable?!! Love how it ties in perfectly with the vintage theme.
I made a shadow box door hanger from an old Bible box. I started out by gessoing and then painting a coat of light blue. I covered the inside bottom and edges with some lightweight, tightly woven fabric which has been backed with paper. I then painted and distress embossed some corrigated cardboard and grungeboard flourishes for more texture. Mulberry paper and a gold sheer fabric have also been worked into the background.
I made a few of the flowers and sprayed the the rest with coordinating vintage colors. The leaves have been die cut using the same textured fabric as on the edges. The main image has been stamped, distressed and covered in rock candy crackle paint. The outer edges have been stamped and distressed with brown paint. I used a die cut decorative border around the outside so the box isn’t a plain rectangle.
