I as so inspired after creating my February Tag for Tim’s Challenge this month that I decided to take my creative flow and make this shadow box for the February I Am Roses challenge. The theme is ‘Love is in the air’ and must be red or pink and include hearts. I decided on red since the photos are of my boys and I won’t use pink on projects featuring them.
All the flowers are from IAR’s. I used a medium blue gardenia which I sprayed black, a cherry blossom sprayed black, a mini white flower and white daisy petals which have been sprayed red.
My friend gave me this tray. It came with crafting supplies inside each compartment. I gessoed the tray and sprayed using Lindy’s. I stamped in several spots using my new Prima stamps. The paper stack Lille’ by 7 Gypsies was perfect for this project because it is red and very masculine. Another one of those hoarded craft items that I haven’t had a chance to use.
I used chipboard, stamped images, metal and trims to embellish the box. When I was finished I took a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of chipboard and mod podged my ‘Lille’ paper. I then sprayed red and black glimmer sprays and added a few more torn bits of paper onto the background. The box was then mounted in the middle. I plan on giving it as a gift. It can be displayed using a plate stand.
Lots of fun to make. I feel like I had mojo for a few hours this weekend and I am so thankful I had the time and energy to play! Happy Monday!
