Autumn Delights
I am seeing so many challenge themes for Autumn as of late but it sure doen’t feel like it outside. My favorite things of fall are the family activities and the food but especially the baking. I love the smell of pumpkin, apple, cloves, and cinnamon wafting throughout the house. My favorite fall baking includes apple pie, apple dumplings, pumpkin cranberry bread, cinnamon bread etc…
What are your favorite fall recipes or delights?
Creating The Journal Page
I have a few pages yet to complete in my Steampunk Art Journal. While looking through my stamps I decided to revisit these amazing sets by Seth Apter for PaperArsty. I have used them several times already but these images are so cool I couldn’t help myself.
The Background
The background is designer paper cut to fit over a grocery bag. I used Grunge paste through a Stencil Girl Stencil. The background color is Infusions by PaperArtsy. I stamped over top with a Tim Holtz stamp and then I started adding embellishments.
The Embellishments
Mostly, I used the stamps to embellish but the rest of the items came from my table. One of these days I will take a picture of my messy table to show you. I used a lot of die cuts on this layout because I recently went on a cutting spree with some of my scraps. And of course, I had to add a few gears to make it more ‘steampunk.’ The gear stamps are from Prima.
Thank you for Stopping!
Kate

Once again, I’m in awe of this beautiful spread. I would love to get the lift and layers you get, but my pieces all turn out so flat. Your steampunk inspired art really resonates with me. And of course, the rusty look appeals to me, too.
I like to buy apple juice in autumn, place it in a crock pot, then add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise to the pot. Turn it on low and the entire house smells great all day long. Better than any potpourri I could ever buy!

Thank you Elizabeth. I love demention so I use layers of chipboard behind pieces to create the layered look. A few extra steps but I like the results.
I love the apple juice in the Crock-Pot idea. I may have to try this. I am going grocery shopping today. 😉 Happy mid-week!

And yes I too don´t feel like autumn, but it is because we are in the south of France and the weather is just sunny and warm 😉 Holiday is wonderful, but I miss my regularly artsytime, haha

Oh Kate – wow this layers are simply AMAZING! This pages are admirable! You are the queen of layering! GORGEOUS – You amaze me every time I come see what you are up to.
I nearly can smell all this lovely things you are going to bake in autumn. I am just busy with getting all my apples done. I love to have many apples – but I don’t really love all the work to can and preserve them for winter. It smells good – but it’s much work for me.What I really like are tasty pumpkin dishes in autumn-
every season has its own charm.
Happy weekend!!
