Gears and Legs

Gears Always Turning

Life has been so busy as of late that I have not had a lot of time to create. But the gears in my head have been turning non-stop. Especially when I lay down at night to go to sleep. I am guessing that is because I don’t have other tasks to occupy my thoughts. I have seen some amazing projects on blogs and Pinterest as of late. I love getting inspired from other people’s artwork and it is a sure thing to get the creative juices flowing during a drought.

What kinds of things do you do to keep the inspiration coming when you don’t have time to sit and create? I wish I could keep inspiration photos in a journal so that I could flip through when I am low on creativity. Sometimes, it is inconvenient to get on the web and search for the right picture to inspire. I find I waste a lot of time finding the right picture, but not before I have gotten side tracked, looking at things on Amazon to buy. 😉 Have any of you done this?

Creating the Journal Layout

My steampunk journal is creating hours of fun for me. I love compiling my lonesome stamps together and using them for the first time in years! Instead of putting a grungy spin on this steampunk journal I have found myself leaning more towards the white gesso and pastel colors. I am liking the combo. My background is made of grocery bags. I have added patterned paper, paper scraps, gesso, paints and stamps. My embellishments clustered together are stamps, chipboard, muslin strips, fibers, corrugated cardboard, and string.
