Welcome to the November blog hop for Artistic Outpost. As this is the last blog hop for this year I wanted to make something special. The theme is Designer’s Choice so I chose to make a wall hanging using the fabulous stamps from the Paris Exposition, Chalk It Up, and Ephemera Backgrounds plates. I had so much fun creating considering it has been a while since I crafted. I forgot how much I enjoyed getting messy. I must give credit to one of my favorite artist, Kasia, for inspiring me. I watched one of her UStream classes and it got those creative juices flowing. I love art that uses bright colors but also a bold white contrast. I tend to go overboard on color so this was a great challenge for me to learn some balance.
I also dug out some of those pieces I have been hoarding and put them to use. My background is lots of torn and cut strips of paper. I layered the paper and covered it with a light wash of gesso. I added all of my flowers, metal, resin and chipboard pieces and then added more gesso. I dripped paint and sprays and then stamped in the background. Eyelets and lace complete the wall hanging.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Please visit the fabulous Design Team. They have lots of inspiring projects to share.

Absolutely beautiful, Kate – the perfect shabby chic style to complement those wonderful stamps (going to have to get hold of those Paris ones one day!) and utterly gorgeous use of the white and the soft colours. I love it! I’m a big Kasia fan too…
