I used the leftovers from my Gabrielle mini to make this card for my mother in law. She is coming for a visit this weekend and I needed to make something fast. I still have not figured out what to give as a gift. She is coming tomorrow so I am out of time to make a gift, plus my computer is out until next week. Wish me luck, hopefully i’ll come up with something fabulous! Happy Wednesday!

I just completed this mini using my winning mini album kit from Limor1278 on YouTube. I could not believe I actually won a giveaway!  The kit was filled with grungeboard, trinkets, trims and the beautiful Bo Bunny paper line Gabrielle. I just loved how the whole mini turned out. I tried to stick to items that came in the kit but I added a few things that went well like some handmade flowers and matching trim. I added a few close up pics of my favorite embellishments. Have a enjoyable weekend!

So, these smash books are really in. For those of you who do not know what a smash book is it is a journal that is filled with blank pages, envelopes, postcards, scraps of paper etc… The great thing about this book is you can fill it up with all sorts of things that YOU, the creator, like. It can be memorabilia, torn magazine pages or just anything that suits your fancy.
Gina, the creator of myscraproom.ning is hosting this junk journal/ smash book swap for this month. I may add a few more things but here are a few pictures of what I have come up with. Our challenge was a book at least 6×10, 40 plus pages, envelopes, tags, and stamping on pages. For some reason I have to decorate. I know a Smash book is almost totally blank but what fun is that. If I wanted a blank book I can just buy one, why would I swap one? This is where the junk journal comes in. A junk journal is a book compiled of of old scraps, book pages, unused embellishments and so forth. So, I did my best to leave lots of blank areas for my partner while sneaking in a little bit of embellishing. The front cover was made using lots of stamped images on tissue paper, Lindy’s sprays and scrap paper. I really think these would make great gifts plus it is a great way to reduce that growing pile of scraps. Enjoy your day!

My second post for today…can you tell I am behind? I feel like I have not had time to scrap as much as I would like lately ( I would scrap 24/7 if I could) but when I sat down to take pictures of my recent projects I was surprised at how much I had accomplished. Alot of my time has been spent completing swaps. I recently discovered the world of swapping and I think I am hooked. I finally have a way to share my art with someone else who not only shares my interest but will appreciate it. I also get pieces of art to enjoy by someone else. Alright, enough babble and onto the project.
I received a gift for Christmas in two of these cigar boxes. I saved them with the thought of one day altering them but nothing in the immediate future. Thanks to YouTube these boxes are crazy popular now so I knew I had to join in. I covered the box with grey acrylic paint and then modge podged on some beautiful paper by K & Co. I found this vintage photo online and thought it went perfect with the foiled birdcage paper. I used vintage ads for the inside that I printed from online, glimmer misted with suede and modge podged on. I used some Tim Holtz tissue tape to cover the inside seams and embellish a bit on the lid.
The lid was covered with glimmer misted I Am Roses, a stick pin and TH elastic trim glimmer misted and attached to be used as a closure over a wooden knob that was crackle painted in tattered rose. Several flowers were made using the tattered floral die and cut from old glimmer misted newspaper. I use newspaper sheets to cover my table when misting. Pearl stamens were added to the center to complete the flower. This was my first altered box and I know it will not be my last. Enjoy!

I made this little door sign for our church nursery door. I decided it was time to do some decorating.

The sign is made from heavy weight chipboard and all the papers are by Crafty Secrets. I used the #17 nestabilities die and beautiful I Am Roses. My favorite part is the adorable paper shoes. A little mary jane complete with a pearl button brad and a sneaker made from Basic Grey Oliver paper hang from the sign with sheer cream ribbon. I found the patterns online.  I am planning on starting another sign for the remaining nursery sometime soon. I’ll post that as soon as I am finished. Thanks for reading and may you have a blessed Tuesday.

I made this mini for my baby’s 3rd birthday. I used Cosmo Cricket’s Little Boy line. It is full of beautiful vintage patterns and stripes. I used transparencies, journalling spots, scraps of leftover paper and tags. A sort of junk mini. Here is a picture of the front cover. Enjoy your week!

Lately, I have found myself using a lot of dressforms in my work. This will probably be the last for a while. I made this card for my sister In law. Its a graduation card for her graduation from nursing school. What an accomplishment! I wanted to make something pretty for her so this is what I came up with. I used crafty secrets paper for the dress and background. The vintage ads came from a piece of a vintage paper bag. Love these! They are so versitile. Enjoy your week!
