This month our theme is masculine. I chose the Steampunk stamp plate from Artistic Outpost.  My background was a disgarded tag from a previous project. I went over it with a bit of gesso, trying to keep the background color and texture but covering up my boo boo at the same time. And then I used a tree stencil with some gel medium.  I really like the effect it made after letting some ink drip down in the cracks. And then of course I just layered everything on top.

      It’s Tuesday again and I have let the week get away from me. I made this card for Artistic Outpost using their Wonderland Collage stamp plate.

     I used a 6×6 pad of love themed paper by Glitz. I cut some borders to layer with lace & crocheted flowers.
    I stamped the clock all over my patterned paper to create my own background. I added some color using ink sprays. The image and sentiment are from the stamp set as well.

Hey everyone, it’s been a while. Sorry I have been away for a week but life has gotten in the way. Instead of crafting I have been napping. My boys are keeping me busy.

   Hello! Today I have a tag I made for Tim Holtz’s 12 tags Challenge. I love the background technique that Tim showed.  Here is a picture of my background before adding my embellishments.

     I am loving those new Distress Paints (thanks to my friend). I altered a piece of chipboard and used patinas on a metal bookplate. I added some twine around the bookplate and layered everything on top of a mistable tag. I used the butterflies from the pappilon stamp set. I cut & layered them on top of each other. The butterfly on the very top has been stamped on acetate.

    Another canvas to practice my layouts. The background paper is 7 Gypsies Paddington. I love the black & white together. I the added a bit of gesso with a palette knife.

    When dry, I stenciled some diamonds with molding paste. I then layered all my white embellishments and sprayed with a couple of colors. I tried to keep the colors contained (i am addicted to drippy paint/ink), allowing some white to show through.

    Lastly I added a bit of stamping, twine and my photo. I hope you like it. Thank you for looking!

Just another layout in my ‘Past Vibes’ art journal to play along with this months I Am Roses Challenge. The challenge is to journal using flat flowers. The flowers I used were ZQP23 & PS-15.

    I started off by covering my kraft paper with scraps of leftover Prima paper and bits of lace, tissue tape, masking tape and burlap. I then used my palette knife to spread a layer of gesso over the background.

I then added my flowers and more background elements.

Before adding my photos I used Distress reinkers to drip some ink all over the page. A new technique I am trying out and really like it.

     I got the inspiration for this card from pinterest. I saw a lovely card in all whites using lots of die cuts and beautiful turquoise flowers.   
    For this card I used lots of dies layered on top of patterned cardstock. I colored and cut the stamped flappers from the Flapper Fashions stamp plate by Artistic Outpost.

    I decided to play around with all my Wendy Vecchi stamp sets that have been lying around unused. Now that I have more time not dedicated to design teams I am trying my hand at different supplies and styles.  Wendy’s style is very inspiring but I can’t come anywhere near to recreating it. Obviously, thats because we all have our own styles. This tag was my take on WV but of course in my style.

Welcome to the Artistic Outpost blog hop. I am showing a card that features the Generation Redux stamp plate. The main image reminds me of a mother and daughter. Very appropiate for this months theme.
I cut patterned paper to various sizes. The edges were distressed and stained with vintage photo. I stamped the background using the Ephemera Backgrounds plate and added some book paper over top. I dripped distress reinkers onto the layered papers to add some splatters and drips. The sentiment is from the Flapper Fashions stamp plate.

     Here is a canvas I made to practice my layout skills. I am amazed at all the gorgeous layouts that I have seen on Pinterest. So much talent to inspire.
   So, I decided to go a little out of my comfort zone. My background is textured using a honeycomb stencil and texture paste. I used some dylusions for color. I went over the background again using gesso and a chevron stencil.

   I added some string in the upper corner and a banner for some more texture.

    I added some flowers, lace and a bit of border to frame the picture. And Of course the picture is of my little men. Thanks for looking,
