It’s Tuesday again and I have let the week get away from me. I made this card for Artistic Outpost using their Wonderland Collage stamp plate.

image

I used a 6×6 pad of love themed paper by Glitz. I cut some borders to layer with lace & crocheted flowers.
I stamped the clock all over my patterned paper to create my own background. I added some color using ink sprays. The image and sentiment are from the stamp set as well.
Hope you are having a splendid week.

With Love Tag

image

I wanted to try something new for this tag. No inks or sprays (except for the stamps). A little out of my comfort zone but I am up for a challenge. I wanted a silver and white color scheme but realized that the rose turned up cream in the photo. I know to add a bit of gesso to the flower next time. The heart stamp is from the All-occasion Icon stamp set by Red Rubber Designs.
I embossed the background and then layered my embellishments on top. Hope you like it. Don’t forget to check out the Red Rubber Designs store. Pam is having a HUGE sale to celebrate the company’s first birthday.

We are celebrating Children’s Literature over at Artistic Outpost. I have a soft spot for Alice In Wonderland so I chose the Wonderland Collage plate to work with. I chose a pastel palette as it reminds me of a childs nursery. And isn’t he a cute bunny?
So, my background started out with some washi tape covered with a wash of gesso. I then white embossed a postmark background from the Ephemera Backgrounds plate. The image is colored using distress markers. I love the rose trim and the vintage lace. Perfect finishing touches.

Just a little journal I bought at a bargin outlet. I used my new October Afternoon papers. Aren’t they pretty? I used my Pink Persimmon stamps for the background and sentiment. Really easy but such a cute teacher/ hostess gift.

I have been using my winnings from Crafty Secrets again to make some cards. I chose this cute kitchen themed set of scraps. This card I used some CS’s paper for the background.

image

I used CS’s paper for this background as well but opted for a ‘Dylusions’ spray and stencil. Pretty simple but more fun than just paper. A short post today. I am busy cleaning and planning for my baby’s pirate party tomorrow. He is 2. Happy weekend.

Just a little dollar store box that I altered the other night. I used Melissa Frances 5th Avenue paper on the box and on the inside. I then painted over it with turquoise paper and stamped over that with script. The stamp on the front is by Lynne Perrella. Beautiful isn’t she? I have been dying to use it since I bought it a a few months ago but I just could not find the right project. I think it fits perfectly here. The roses are from the paper collection and cut out with the tattered pinecone die. The rose trim is sprayed with Lindy’s.

image

I cut up the paper to make the banner and the lovely ladies. Those gorgeous tea cups are by Spellbinder’s. I just borrowed them from a special friend. She didn’t even get to play with them before she lent them to me so I  decided to make this little box for her.

image

Some close ups of each section. These boxes work great as shadow boxes.

I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend here in the US. How thankful I am for all those serving our country so that we might be free.

I am finally getting around to posting this project. I can’t believe May is almost over. Plus, we have had days of rain which makes for bad picture taking. Since the IAR challenge requires purple or teal I decided to use both. The theme needs to include Mother’s Day. I chose a blank journal to alter. I call it my ‘Mother’s Journal’. I plan to use it as a place to write memories, and keep picture or memorabilia from my boys. Just a book to write down all my mommy moments. It was fun to make something for myself. Something to help me celebrate being a mommy.

image

I started out by painting the journal lilac. I layered a coat of crackle medium and then a layer of ivory paint. I then sprayed over the journal with lilac, teal and brown glimmer sprays. I heated it until all the paint bubbled. I then added some texture paste to the corners and stamped into it using my new TH wallpaper stamp. I painted over it with several coats of paint and and added some turquoise over the raised areas as a highlight. I have always wanted to try this technique. I think its a keeper. To decorate the front I used a dollar frame from Target and added some gesso. All the flowers and skeleton leaves are from I Am Roses, sprayed with lilac, teal and brown.

image

image

I would also like to enter this journal in the My Monthly Mojo challenge. The theme is floral frenzy. I thought this journal would be perfect with all the pretty flowers. My inspiration for this journal came from all the gorgeous journals that I have seen on Pin interest. One of them in particular had a photo in the center. I don’t usually scrap with photos of myself but I decided to go all out on this journal, especially since it is for me. It put me out of my comfort zone but I am pleased to have such a pretty book to write in.

image

Here is the inside cover I decorated with a picture of my little men.

image

Lastly, I’ll leave you with this quote I found about mothers. I loved it, so I made space for it on my first page.

image

It says: The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. – Honore de Balzac

I used the following flowers from IAR:
R40-77
R21-635
S10-15
ZQP23-151
D1-15

Thank you for visiting and making it to the bottom of my longer than normal post.

I just have a few baby cards to share today. Summer is when everyone seems to get married and have babies. I can’t keep up with all the showers and events. I don’t have many baby themed stamps that are my style so I have put off making cards. Thankfully, I have this gorgeous, vintage pram stamp by Red Rubber Designs that is part of their May release. I love it!! I had so much fun that I made two similar cards with different embellishments.

image

On this one I just added a cardboard butterfly and some pearls.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and hopefully you got some ideas and inspiration.

I decided to try my hand at my first altered bottle. I think I need a lot more practice perhaps a altered bottle workshop will do.
So I am entering this in the Alpha Stamps ‘Think Pink’ fB contest. It requires me to use one Alpha Stamps product and something pink. I used their digital image and several trims. Also, I used flowers from I Am Roses. I am going to enter it in their ‘April Showers’ contest as well.

image

I used lots of paint, book paper and some patterened paper. The script stamp is by Red Rubber Designs.

image

Well, thats about it for today. I am feeling mojo less. I am hoping I have more luck tomorrow.

Hi everyone. Welcome to my weekly Red Rubber Designs post. This weeks theme is ‘End of School.’ I really wanted to use this fun and versitle Sugar Coated Sweetness Stamp set. I kept thinking about a journal. What a great gift for a teacher to end the year. Or you could use it as a summer reading journal or a vacation journal. So many possibilities…
So, here is what I did. I took a journal and used two layers of gesso. I used a layer of crackle medium on top and then a light yellow ontop of that. As you know I love vintage and it was just too bright for me so I sprayed it down with some brown and teal and heat dried it until bubbles formed. I got some awesome texture.

image

Next, I cut a piece of sticky back canvas. I sprayed the canvas and stamped Beauty of a Woman in stazon as my background. I cut some vintage lace, layered some distressed Spellbinder’s and layered some sprayed gardenia petals. I cut the little mint stamp, glittered it and used it as my flower centers. The cupcake and sundae were colored, paper pieced with paper from the Rustic Chic stack and glittered.  The sentiment is also from the stamp set. I distressed and painted the bookplate.

image

I loved making this journal. Aren’t these stamps fabulous?!! Please stop again next week as I will use this stamp set differently and show off another new release from Red Rubber Designs. Also, next week will be our blog hop featuring our May releases.
Blessings,
Kate

Welcome to the Grand Opening of Red Rubber Designs. Today I will be sharing a project featuring the Life of the Party Stamp. Visit every DT members blog to see how we all feature this stamp uniquely with our individual style.
    image

I decorated a square metal tin using the Rustic Chic Paper Stack. I then stamped on top the paper  with stamps from the Well-Defined Stamp Set. I cut the individual elements from the Life of the Party stamp so I could feature them all seperately. The small tree is from the Mountain Scenery stamp set. I also used frames from the Fabulous Frames Stamp Set on the very top. I painted the vintage flapper girl with watercolors and then modge podged to add extra strength. The metal tin is sitting a top two wooden spools which have been painted and covered in the Rustic Chic papers. Vintage lace has been sprayed in pink and gathered to form tiny flowers. To finish it off I glittered all around the tin’s opening to add a bit of dazzle. I hope you have enjoyed this project. You must try this stamp. You can find it at the RRD Store.

Happy Monday! The sun is finally up and I can photograph again. We have had several dreary days in a row outside but not in my craft room. I am feeling rather productive as of late.
Today’s card is made using paper from Christy Tomlinson’s new line by Pink Paislee. I added some gesso, paint and stamping because I cannot help myself. I also added some lace, ribbon, paper flower, grungeboard, and a few other little embellies. I stamped the sentiment.

image

This is a gatefold card so I decorated each side differently. The inside remains plain as of now with paper from the line and some stamping.

I hope you enjoy looking. I am not much for card making but this one was fun.

Melissa Frances Card

image

Hello Everyone! Happy friday. Just a quick share today. I made this card for the 2012 challenge over at the Flourishes blog.
I love shabby chic but I don’t do it very well, especially when I am limited in colors and layers, as in this challenge. I finally got to break out my ’5th Avenue’ paper from Christmas so that was very exciting. What a beautiful paper line! Well, thats all for today.

I am amazed at how fast the weeks are flying. Another week is already upon us. I do not usually get to create anything on weekends but this weekend was different! I have already completed two projects! That is exciting.
Today, I am showing the shabby chic tag that I made. This tag was made using the peeled paper background by Claudine Hellmuth. I recently bought one of her books and this tag was  practice from about a month ago.
The image was made using the packing tape transfer technique by Tim Holtz. I started it for Grungy Monday a while back but was unable to complete the project due to a 4 day power outage ( thanks, Irene). I decided to combine the two projects as I am making an attempt to use up what I have. It is difficult but I already see my stash dwindling. The sprays are Lindy’s! Love them! The pendant is from The Girls Paperie. I love the color combo on this tag! Perfect for summer. The frame is from StampersBest. I love this set. I believe it is the ‘Photographer’ set. Pop on over to see them. They have awesome stamps. You can even use my coupon code for 10% of your purchase: TheScrapYard.
Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
