We at Artistic Outpost are showcasing our ‘Love’ themed projects to get you in the mood for Valentines’s Day.
I decided to alter an altoid Tin since I have several lying about. I also love making assembleges! When I made this I envisioned it as a keepsake that a Gentleman would carry around to remember his Lady. I used the AO Paris Exposition stamp set. Perfect since Paris is the City of Love, right?
I used corrigated cardboard, a crocheted flower, apothicary bottles and a metal charm.
I really tried to rust everything up to give it an old look. I layered the distressed images to provide depth. I used a bit of corrigated cardboard, brown lace, a metal heart and a cd player laser.

Absolutely love this, Kate… the distressing on the outside is just phenomenal, and I love your collection of mementos on the inside – delicious use of the stamps! I’m so tempted by tin-alterations, but worried I won’t be able to get rid of the fishy smell from the ones I have!!

AWESOME! Really like the altered tin…I have been thinking about doing one for a while now and yours has lite a fire under me to give it a try. I will find a way to incorparate polymer clay into mine. NIce job Kate! Happy New Year.

Oh my goodness, Kate, I am totally drooling over this piece! Love your approach about how a gentleman might carry it with him as a memento.
