This tag has been sitting on my desk for a week half-completed. Today, I finally got back to my craft table to finish it off.
The background is inked, sprayed and embossed. I used a Tattered Angels heart stamp that has been sprayed and gold heat embossed. The key and flourish are painted grungeboard. The rest of the stamps are from Tim’s steampunk set.
Well, thank you for taking a look.

I have finally had time to indulge in Pin interest. Can I just say it is addicting and fun. I love how you can search through pictures, click on the one you like and go right to the website of origin. I love that you can put pictures of all different subjects together on one board.
I found this awesome Blueberry Buttermilk Breakfast Cake on Pin Interest. I had it ready for hubby when he and the little men came home from church this afternoon.
Hope you find some yummy things to make this week, edible or non-edible.
First off, I have been out of touch with everyone because I been in bed sick since Saturday. Stuff like the chills, sweating, sore throat, vomiting, muscle aches and a high fever. I thought I was feeling better and then this morning around 12:30 am I woke up drenched in sweat and my throat was on fire when I swallowed. I am a RN so I couldn’t resist the urge to pull out my flashlight and wouldn’t you know… I had a whole field of white stuff growing in the back of my throat. I was going to look for a cool picture online to share but that might be too much for some of you. Needless to say, I went to the Dr. and he said it is my tonsils or mono. I find out tomorrow. I cannot imagine all the mothers out there that have a family, a job and are living with mono. I have had a few days of this and I am already thanking the Lord for my health and that of my family. How blessed I am!! I know this is a bit out of my normal topics but just some encouragment to be thankful for your health & family.
Here is a little card to share that I made a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes, I keep projects hidden until moments like this pop up. I am missing my craft room so much but until I get better I will just have to dream of my projects from bed. Goodness knows I have plenty of time. Also, I am psyched about my Christy Tomlinson mixed media kit coming any day now. Have any of you tried a kit club? This will be my first. I would like to hear any reccomendations.
Thank you for reading my out of the ordinary post. I do hope I did not gross anyone out. Enjoy your week and SMILE!
Greetings everyone! I hope your Thursday has been enjoyable. Today, I want to share the second set of pages I have completed in my altered book.
This first image is by June at Dezinaworld. I love it! I used some gears, beads and TH stamps.
I really wanted a dressform on at least one page so I used a side facing form from Graphic’s Fairy. I layered the skirt with lace, butterflies, glitter, beads, gears, a word stick and some tulle. The whole background was white and cream with black stamping. In the end, I thought the images just seemed to fade into it, so I went back and added some turquoise. My eye likes it a bit better.
Lastly, I would like to share an amazing gift that I won in a giveaway!
Pat, at Art 4 Liberty had a giveaway in which I won this amazing piece. I loved it so much I wore it around all weekend. I was cleaning, baking and doing things around the house but I just could not take it off! I am in love with this pendant. Hop on over to Pat’s blog and look around. Thanks, Pat!
I am so excited to make Grungy Monday this week. As you know, WordPress had some glitches which prevented me from participating last week. The theme is ‘Love Tim Holtz Style.’
I had fun using all my new grungeboard shapes. What awesome stuff. Can’t believe I have made it this far without them. I am discovering a whole new world of products and techniques this year.
There is not much to tell about what I did (actually, I am just feeling too tired to write it all) but the short version is I painted, distressed, stamped and then repeated that process a lot.
Thank you for stopping by.
The winner of my First Bloganniversary box is Sam. Congratulations Sam. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your mailing address. I will be mailing your box out on Friday. Thank you for all who entered. I wish I could send something to each of you.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Much of my inspiration on this layout came from Donna Downey’s Inspiration Wednesday from last week. Lots of fun techniques I never thought of putting together. This page turned more into a collage. A little of this and a little of that. All scraps.
And here is a close up of the texture. I used my oil pastels for the first time since high school.
Enjoy your Monday.
This post is a test to see If WordPress is working correctly. I appologize for all of you who may have gotten notifications yesterday with posts that did not work. I uploaded my Grungy Monday post 3 times but was unsucessfull with the image. I had to delete each post. Needless to say I missed Grungy Monday. But if you can see the image today, WordPress fixed the problem. I updated my app this am.
Thank you for being patient with me. The image if you can see it is was my entry for GM. It is a Tim inspired ATC.
Don’t forget today is the last day to enter the Giveaway . So far, I have a overwhelming three entries so if you are one of those three, you have a very good chance of winning. Have a lovely Monday.
I like to hoard Graphic 45 papers. I am sure you can relate. We all have something in our scrap room that we just like to look at. Well, I am trying to get over my hoarding. I made a pact with myself to use the papers on the shelf before buying any more (unless it is for a specific project.) I finally decided to take out these beautiful papers to make some cards. What do you hoard?
Just a reminder that there is still time to enter my giveaway . You have until Tuesday February 14th.
Here are a couple of bags that I made to inspire my gift giving next week. I’ll will be making chocolate coverted fruit to fill up these lovelies. Hopefully all the fruit will make it to the bags and not my stomach.
To decorate, I used the Le Romantique collection by Graphic 45 and lots of paint, sprays, tissue tape, lace and embellies. So Fun these were!! Now I just have to come up with the right person in order to part with them. Paper bags are versitile, easy to work with and cheap. Try altering one for fun and you may be surprised at what you come up with.
Recently, I decided to clean off my very messy table. I have limited talent when it comes to card making but I remembered a recent blog post (can’t remember where) about collaging scraps of anything together. I figured this technique would be fool proof. How did I do? I really like the outcome on this first card. The second, not so much.
I will have to work on this a bit more if I am ever in the card making mood again. It is an easy technique if you are limited on time and want to use up what is available. Try it! I would love to see what you make.
Challenge entered: Pixie’s Crafty Workshop
As you can tell by now, I am addicted to turquoise and teal. I am finding it difficult to not use it on every possible project. And here I have used them again. Perhaps it is just a phase I am going through. I wonder how long it will last.
The images on this layout are from Green Paper’s February collage challenge. Are they not lovely? Mary’s work is beautiful. I have not taken her gluebook class yet but I am planning to sometime in the future.
Also, if you have not yet entered my giveaway, there is plenty of time. Thank you for stopping by this Thursday.
This is an altered brie cheese box. I used Lindy’s and paint to color the box. On top I added flowers and some vintage embellishments. The image is from Graphic 45’s Le Romantique. The side has lace underneath a layer of painted skeleton leaves and black pearls.
For the inside of the box I painted it turquoise and then decorated the underside of the lid with some more lace, gaffer tape, a butterfly, flower and a Le Romantique image.
Here is another closeup of the lid.
I made this little box to celebrate my first blog anniversary. I am a couple months late but better late than never. 2. Please leave a comment on this post and tell me if you are a follower, what kind of art you enjoy seeing and what you might like to see in the coming year. This helps me to include variety of art in my posts.
3. The giveaway will run Feb 1st until Feb 14th. A winner will be picked at random from the comments.
4. I would appreciate it if you share this giveaway on your blog if you feel led too but this is not a requirement to be eligible for the giveaway.
Thank you so much for supporting me. Without it, I probably would have given up on this blog long ago.
